Welcome to the 2010 ESPN X Games freestyle Competition at the Los Angeles Coliseum. This is the premier event at any Summer X Games and with its ever evolving course considered by many of the athletes to be the most technically difficult to medal in.
Long time EVS friend and team rider Travis Pastrana returned to freestyle Thursday with a stunning performance that earned him not only the Gold but his unprecedented 16th X Games medal. With his creative use of the entire course, numerous flip trick variation’s, and his unassailable skills on both quarter pipe hit’s Travis set the bar for the entire competition scoring an unmatched 73 points on his first run of the finals.
Young gun Levi Sherwood came out with his sites on Travis throwing down an incredibly smooth run that included all the newest and most exciting tricks like the LazyBoy and Indian air Flip, but in the end his 73 was not enough to knock TP off of the leader box and Levi would end up with Silver while Nate Adams would settle for Bronze.
This would be the first competition in which Travis would be wearing the new Nitro Circus branded EVS Protective equipment under his riding gear that included a Revo 4 under protector, Impact Short, and the best freestyle knee pads on the market designed by Travis himself, the SC03.
Congratulations to Travis on winning X game gold in Freestyle as well as Speed and Style at the 2010 X Games
